The World Games 2022 will soon be making its way to The Magic City, with a thrilling Opening Ceremony on July 7. Birmingham will see a massive influx of visitors and athletes alike. To accommodate, several road closures and closed perimeters will take effect from July 7-17.

The M2 development in Avondale, currently housing Ghost Train Brewing Company, Freshwater Landtrust and Trips for Kids, has announced another exciting tenant—TransLoop.
The modern freight brokerage company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois is expanding its horizons to Birmingham. By the end of the year, TransLoop plans to create 30+ jobs, and they’re hiring for multiple positions now. Read more about M2’s newest tenant here.
Ready to feel the burn with a fun new cycling class or dig into some delicious seafood? You’re in luck. Here are some fun openings around town that you don’t wanna miss:

In a major environmental win, the City of Trussville announced a new proclamation that will eliminate the purchase of styrofoam by city government. This means places like city hall and the police department are getting rid of the major pollutant. Styrofoam is neither recyclable nor biodegradable and takes hundreds to thousands of years to degrade in the environment.
The effort is all thanks to Friends of Pinchgut Creek—a local organization dedicated to protecting the Pinchgut Creek and Cahaba Headwaters watershed through stewardship, education, community involvement and advocacy.
