Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate will be held for another 30 days  by the Romanian police by order of the judge.
In a recent statement from the main court in Bucharest, a judge has described the "particular dangerousness" of brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, citing their ability to target women and exert "permanent psychological control" over their victims through acts of violence. The Tates brothers, who are being held in custody for an additional 30 days while police investigate allegations of rape and human trafficking, have denied the charges. According to the statement, the judge also highlighted the brothers' ability to identify vulnerable victims and blame them for the crimes committed by traffickers.
Prosecutors have claimed that the Tate brothers forced women to work for 12 hours straight with only a five-minute break. The statement also noted behavior consistent with the "loverboy method" frequently used by traffickers to lure women into the sex industry for profit.
Allegedly, all of the victims in this case had "asked the defendants for attention and affection", which was only granted on the condition that they perform activities that would bring the brothers income. In light of the evidence presented so far, the judge justified the brothers' continued detention as necessary for the investigation and to manage social tensions and public order surrounding the case. The Tates are also being held with two Romanian women, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, who are believed to have been closely associated with them.
Despite the serious nature of the accusations, Andrew Tate has maintained his innocence, telling journalists that the case file against him is "completely empty". Meanwhile, social media accounts belonging to the brothers have remained active while they have been in detention. An appeal against their continued detention is expected next week.
