Apple has officially announced the first Apple event of this year dubbed “Peak Performance” which will be held next week on March 8.
The event will be virtual just like previous events since 2020 and the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the keynote will be held on March 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. PST, the date that was heavily rumored by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

It is expected that three products will take the spotlight in next week’s keynote:
- iPhone SE 3
- 2022 iPad Air 5
- An entry-level MacBook Pro
The iPhone SE 3 is likely to feature the same design as the second-gen iPhone SE while upgrading the performance by housing the A15 Bionic chip – found on the iPhone 13 lineup – as well as adding 5G connectivity.
The iPad Air 5 will be set to sport the same specs in addition to Center Stage, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera, and Quad-LED True Tone. This update to the iPad will make sure that the Air lineup will be up to date with the latest trends and features found on smaller models like the iPad mini 6.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the two devices were imported to India for internal testing purposes ahead of the expected event. While Foxconn reopened its iPhone manufacturing facility in India on January 12.
The Mac lineup will also get updated with a new entry-level model of the MacBook Pro. The new product will have the same design as the 2020 model while upgrading the performance with the unannounced M2 chip; eliminating the Touch bar; and no support to the many features of the 2021 models such as ProMotion, mini-LED, and the new Magic Keyboard.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, tweeted this video showing an AR render of the colorful associated Apple logo.

The last Apple event was held in October 2021 dubbed “Unleashed” when the company announced the new MacBook Pros with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips as well as AirPods 3 and new HomePod colors.
